Seawater generally has a high concentration of TDS ranging from 28,000 to 35,000 ppm depending on the ocean or sea body. The concentration of minerals in seawater is constant year around and the mineral composition will typically be 55% chloride, 31% sulfate, 8% magnesium, 4% calcium, 1% potassium and 1% other elements including boron. Estuaries however will vary in the level of TDS due to the contact of freshwater with seawater.
With the high concentration of salts in seawater, RO is required to produce usable product water of TDS < 500 ppm. Pretreatment for RO will include screening and media filtration or ultrafiltration.
Aqua Clear engineers, designs and manufactures the RO system including pre- and post-treatment to meet clients’ product water requirements for TDS, chloride, boron, pH, etc.
Aqua Clear also offers both chemical and Membrane Healthcare programs for filtration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis seawater systems including field service and repairs.
In cases where an enclosure is required, Aqua Clear manufacturers complete packaged treatment seawater system within Enclosed Containers ready for “plug and play”.
